Did I tell you all my HORRIFYING "don't kids say funny things" story last year?
I may not have because it was so horribly awkward. It was Christmas time last year and Rob and I drug poor little Destiny around all day one weekend shopping for a mattress (Rob and I had a very old mattress that was killing our backs!) This of course is total misery for a kid, but we thought we'd make an "adventure"out of it and test all the best armchairs in the furniture stores, and go out to lunch and that might make it bareable. She tolerated, barely.
We were crossing through the mall when the mall's Santa was returning from coffee break. Destiny pointed and screamed "LOOK! IT'S SANTA" with a charming eagerness, so Santa and many mall people gathered around to see this little interaction where Santa caught her in the middle of the mall, shook her hand, told her to be good and asked her what she wanted for Christmas.
She said "Well, I don't really need anything, but if you could bring my mom and dad a new bed that would be really nice because they wore theirs right out."
Please take note: This blog is for family, friends and others who would like to learn about adoption from our family. We invite you to make comments, to follow along or contact us with questions, but we do ask that you do not post information about our kids on your web site. Please do not link ours to yours (We are trying to keep it out of search engines for our kids' privacy) and please don't duplicate photos without permission. We appreciate your cooperation.
